Ryka's Cafe Box Hill

Sunday afternoon and I'm just back from a quick run out to Ryka's Cafe at Box Hill. I had a busy morning of chores and as the weather forecast was for rain I didn't have any other plans this weekend. I should have put money on the BBC weather being wrong again, as the afternoon turned out to be warm and sunny. So a quick run out on the bike was in order.

I've been to the cafe a couple of times, but should have taken a map as I managed to miss the turn for it today. The Cafe is really just a burger bar and a car park. It's pretty basic, but there always seams to be plenty of bikes there on sunny weekend afternoon. It's busy but not packed. Don't go expecting it to be the Ace Cafe, but it does have it's plus points and it's definitely a place to spot some nice bikes. Today I had a look round a new KTM RC8, a Ducati 1089S and a Bennelli Cafe racer to name just a few.

One big plus is that they do a mean burger with several options to go large. Egg and bacon on that sir? The main attraction is that it's in easy striking distance of London and it's on the edge of Surrey near some reasonable good biking roads. Head out from London, grab a burger and a cuppa and set yourself up for some back lane riding and then grab a cuppa before working your way through London weekend traffic on the way home.
